Our mission at Red Lion Rods is simple, we create the highest performing rods possible for those who are serious about fishing.  We take the information learned from field testing to put the best combination of materials and products available together for each rod.  We are performance driven, not profit or price.  

Being in 'the fishing capital of the world', we noticed there was a gap of rod options for us Florida anglers.  Rod manufacturers from faraway places tout their bass rods are equally adept at fishing inshore for redfish and snook, or recommend parabolic rods for targeting tarpon.  Why was no one building rods specific for Florida, where we fish 12 months a year and have a wide variety of species to target such as tarpon, snook, redfish, permit, bonefish, tuna, sailfish, and more!  We got tired of having to make due with what was available and started making rods specifically made for Florida fishing.  

We started with looking to build the perfect rod for hogfish, with a tip sensitive enough to detect a hogfish nibble but with enough backbone to get them up quickly to avoid sharks.  We built rods for jig head fishing baits for snapper, such as yellowtail, mangroves, and american reds.  These rods needed to be able to bend deep enough to allow us to fish light leader for when the fish were being leader shy (so the line won't fail), but have enough of power to still be able to put heat on larger fish.
